The Hiriko ialai is designed especially for areas with a mild climate. This second Hiriko vehicle is similar to its predecessor: it is an open-top, two-seater electric roadster that can fold. It is registered as a type L7 heavy quadricycle, and all its electronic components are protected in an IP66-rated leak-tight casing.
This new project by Hiriko has a mid-mounted motor rated at 15 kW, giving it an acceleration of 0 to 60 kph in 10 seconds, a haptic steering-wheel with “by-wire” technology and a range of over 100 km. The battery has a rapid charge time of 20 minutes (from 20 to 80%) and a normal charge time of 3 hours. Its speed is capped at 50 kph for city driving, though its top speed is actually 95 kph. Like its brother, the Hiriko ialai has a 210 litre boot and can fold, bringing its length down from 2.6 m to 2,0 m to make the most of the parking space available and making for a distinctive driving experience.
It features a touch screen built into the steering-wheel, a tablet PC built into the dashboard, a smartphone interface and an exclusive smart urban navigation system with specific software that interacts with the urban environment (city information, charging points, parking areas, etc), all of which give this second Hiriko model its own distinctive character.
